l have a cd player that l wanna put in my mercury sable (l know how to do all the wiring, so I am not going to pay someone else)the problem l have is that l can not get the radio out without messing with the entire facing of the heat/air controls, etc.Anybody got any advice??

Go to your local audio store or Crutchfield on-line and get a mounting kit for your car, it includes a new face plate for the climate controls system that has a cut out for a aftermarket stereo instead of the factory radio. While you are there look into a wiring kit also, it will make the wiring job a lot faster and more professional. l checked at Crutchfields and these kits gor for $69.99 complete.
