l know l have pulsiating breaks and what is happening could be back brakes but was wondering if someone might know. When I am stopped, yielding , idling and then try to go, it (the car) locks up and struggles and feels like something is holding it back and when l give it gas it jumps and skips and sometimes burns rubber. Going along at normal speeds it seems to be racing back and forth like someone is letting on and off the gas.

No the E brake is not ingaged, on or stuck. It is an automatic and do not need anE brake.

l have the exact same car and had the problem for a bit. It is gone away now. At the time it was happening l was low on tranny fluid and also needed a new radiator. I've since fixed those 2 problems and i'm running fine now. Possibly check those? otherwise idk what it is/was.

With that old of a car, change the transmission filter and the fluid. Get a bottle of Lucus and add into system first then fill the rest of the way up with transmission fluid. You need to drive the car a short distance then bring it back and put it in park and leave it running, when you check the level.

First thing l would do is service the tranny ,Just so you will no check to see if the tranny is low on fluid, Also check the rear end to see if it has enough lube in it. , and you might wont to see if there could be a throttle cable loose that is not letting you get the throttle open to the fullness.
