1997 Mercury Sable keyless entry programming instructions with a remote

Ask at the dealer parts dept. l used to sell Ford is and just can not remember what the procedure was.Had to turn the key on and off so many times and then hit a button on the remote and it would automatically reprogram it.If they wo not help you than try to find a Ford or Mercury owners forum on the internet.Just hit search and check for info.Usually get some great info from those sights.Have saved a lot of money on both my Caddy and Lexus from tips l got from forums

you turn the key off and on until the locks lock and unlock and leave the key on push any button on the remote and the doors will lock and unlock then turn the key off the key fob will be programmed. may have to turn off and on 8 times.
