This is a dreadful and poor car. l recommend a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord if your are looking for something used and relaible.

l have had and drove Sable is from 1986 to 2000 and liked the cars until they tried to make a 2008 Sable from another car. Anyhow to answer your question. do not get it as one that old .. yes you will have a lot of problems just like everyone else is telling you..

It really depends on how well the car was treated by it is previous owners. The 3.8 essex engine was known to suffer head gasket failure because it had aluminum heads on an iron block, & gasket technology back then would fail too often around 60k miles. The 3.0 vulcan engines r nearly indestructible. People r gonna tell u to buy a Toyota or Honda, but if u look at other carmakes on , u will find people who r having problems with those cars too. Every car will have problems at some point; welcome to the world of ownership! If the Sable looks like it is been well maintained, & it is reasonably priced considering it is mileage & condition, then it should work out fine.
