my 1993 mercury villager has speedometer problems. The speedometer is not working. please help me!

the speedometer is either run from an electrical sensor on the transmission or by a cable from the transmission to the speedometer on the dashboard.. l dont know which it is.
Goto Autozone and ask them. Maybe one of your more mechanically inclined friends can replace it for you.

check all the fuses and make sure they are good. if all fuses are good the output speed sensor in the trans may have failed. you will have to hook up a new generation star tester to the computer and monitor the pids for the sensor to see if it is working. if it is working then the speedometer head will have to be replaced. take it to a dealer and let them diagnose the problem.
