l own a 2000 mercury cougar.l love this car it is amazing. It is small good looking relatively fast considering how heavy the car is and how small the engine is. And it is advanced and good on gas.

However they no longer make them anymore =(.
Do you think the cougar will ever come back?
And if they do l hope they are as powerful as they were back in 1969
And yes l know there are various models of the Cougar. They should have never changed it to a luxury car because it was better as a sports car like it was meant to be when it was made back in the 60's. If they reintroduce it again they should actually give it some balls.

You do realize that the various models (generations) of the Cougar have nothing in common with one another, right? Ford may someday bring it back, and it would probably be on something small & sporty -- and likely based on a Mazda platform.

well l noticed that ford seems to keep in a cycle on some cars so its a possibility but not any time soon

No-thats it -the luxury version of the mustang is 86'd.

It would be kind of cool. I'd like to see a luxury coupe version released (as l have owned an '88 & '93). You never know especially considering now, there r a lot of retro cars making a comeback ie. Camaro, GTO, Charger. Unfortunately, the appeal ususally does not last very long. It is more of a novelty than anything. They often only last a couple years. l think the GTO has already been discontinued. The new Thunderbird that was based off the 50 is two-seater was only around a couple years before it was stopped (although those cars r still selling for 20,000ish dollars). But who knows, maybe we will get lucky & see it happen.

l wish l loved my 99 cougar and l jsut got an 07 eclipse somuch newer but l still want my cougar....i had the v6 and for a girl like me it was just perfect!! l miss it so much if they made this again l would buy it in a heartbeat!!
