How do you check whether or not the oxygen sensor is bad?
the OBD Il P0430 comes on when the engine RPM is 1324. And the coolant temperature is at 192 degrees Farenheit.
The vehicle speed is 53mph or higher.

most likely causes are a bad catalytic converter and defective oxygen sensor(s). either repair is expensive. this problem is emissions related and usually wont cause any problems unless you are required to pass and emissions inspection

You will end up with having to replace more then just the catalytic converter and oxygen sensor , plus it will fail the fog or emissions tests , plus it will be hard on gas and hard on the engine.

you have received good info. now before you buy any thing to fix it . pull the O2 sensor and just clean the part that is in the gas stream , brush it with a wire brush insure the ports are clean and spray some brake cleaner in the ports to flush out and build up out, air dry, put some anti size on the threads and re install , reset the OBD I l light and test drive it. most people replace the O2 sensors when all they have to do is clean them
