Changed my timing belt just a few years ago. Recently the lifters began rattling badly at idle & low speeds, sounds like crap. My question is how can l fix this problem or get any info on how to replace lifters for my engine. They do not have instructions on lifters in my 26170 Chilton book. Please help

Well if it was mine l would find a machine shop and take head in to have it reworked new valves, lifters, valve seats, magna fluxed, milled check around l know a place around my town that will do all of that for 125.00 witch is very fair price. And you can find one around your town, GOOD LUCK!!!

try running a thinner oil. most of the time the noise is due to carbon built up. you could also run an engine cleaner through it. if it still runs good there probably is nothing really wrong with it.
