looking to buy a car nothing thats going to kill my pocket,

Well , when choosing a vehicle there r alot of things to consider.milage.make & models reputation.how the car appears to have been taken care of.as a mechanic l will say more ford taurus & mercury is end up through my service bays for repairs .so if u r not mechanically inclined.just be careful.there r good & bad in every make in model.but odds r for the most trouble free driving l would rather see u in a good gm made vehicle .but that is just my opinion.any car will be good if taken care of .service regular ..

Short answer: NO!

We had a 1999 Mercury Mystique (We called it the Mercury Mistake) and we ended up changing things on that car that I've never had changed on any of my other cars. That was the worst car l ever had.

l would look at getting a Taurus (1999-2007 are good years) or an Escort. Avoid the Contour/Mystique.

In the profession we call that the Mercury Mistake. If you are looking for a good relibale used car l would suggest either a Nissan Sentra,any Toyota or VW

I've never owned one but l did have one as a rental car for a week.And that car was great, l drove and drove and the gas gauge barely moved l started to think it was broken.But it was not the car just got great MPG,and it was a V-6. l finally put gas in it once before returning it. l was very impressed,with that and everything else about the car.But then again it was almost new back then, after 7 years it might not be the same.

No you should not . l am a mechanic and l have seen these cars broke down on the side of the road with all kinds of problems.Now if it was up to me l would look into a Ford Focus or a Ford Taurus because my neighbors have one and they say they love it.
