l have a 99 cougar and the tranny is stuck in 3rd gear. l dont know what Is wrong. It is a 5 speed manual. Is it hard to take a transmission out of that kind aof car? How would l do it and how long does it take. Also should l replace or rebuild.would be great

l could not tell you for sure but hopefully it is something like the linkage and not too costly to fix. Get it to a mechanic.
