l just bought my car from a used dealership and the buttons on the remote dont always work to open the trunk...........how can l get a replacement ..the dealer l bought it from or a Ford Dealership?

You might try looking on eBay. Some people sell them there and they come with programming instructions. My sister bought one for her Mazda 626 and it ended up working correctly. She paid about $25 including shipping. l do not know if they make them for your car, but it might be worth a try.

Are u sure its the remote?
If its just the hatch not opening its more likely that ur spring is just too weak-the one the factory put in isnt strong enough to hold the hatch up, so u have to lift while hitting the button sometimes.

If that is the issue then u can swap the spring or just stretch it out if u dont mind doing it regularly.

If it is the remote then first try the dealership u bought it from. They may do it as a goodwill gesture. Even if u have a warranty that will likely not be covered. If that fails then eBay is the way to go. They will work & arent hard to program. You can also get keys off there & as long as u have one proper key (with the correct PAT code) u can program more. Never lose all ur keys or u have to pay to have the computer reset.

you do know you have to hold on to the button for a few seconds so the trunk opens ..if you are just pressing and letting go away it will not open ..you have to hold it down for a few seconds and you have to be close to the trunk .you might also want to check battery they might be week and might not send a strong signal.
