The power door locks fuse keeps blowing for a 2000 Mercury Cougar any ideas

l highly suggest that u check the power door lock fuse & check the ampere rating on it, & then check in ur owners manual to see if it is the right amperage. Having an improper fuse could easily cause it to blow out. Does the fuse blow out when u use the power door lock, or does it occur randomly when the power door lock is not in use. If the fuse blows out when u push the button then it is most likely there is the wrong fuse in it. If it blows out even though u r not using it, then there is most likely an electrical problem within the car(most likely in the fuse box or in the cars wiring). You should have ur vehicles electrical system checked by a technician. The technician will check for shorted wiring or other electrical problems & most likely be able to fix them. Hope this helps
