Ok, so im hoping to get a mercury cougar years between 1999-2002.my question is that are all 1999 cougars Stick shift? bcus every one ive found, the 1999 is are stick shift, and 2000-2002 are automatics.so like did they make automatic 1999 cougars, or 2000-2002 manual cougars?

There is not much difference between the two. There are auto. 99 cougars. l have one my self. There are really only cosmetic difference. Diff bumpers, seats and center console. The motor and other mechanical stuff are all the same.

They are nice to look at but real junk, they are just based on the Contour platform anyways. l would look for a better car myself.

Early 99 models use a different fuel system than late 99-02 models.

Other than that the 99 and 00 are identical.
The 01 had the first cosmetic changes and they were carried over til 02 when the car was ended.

I4s are almost all MTX.
Most V6s are ATX but you dont want to go that route, only buy a 5 speed, the auto in that car is terrible. Year doesnt make a difference except for age, stick vs auto makes a big difference in WHP.
