How do i drain the trans fluid from the rear end of 72 mercury cougar

remove the cover is the only way there is no drain like the oil pan make shure you get a new gasket and 90 weight oil that is for the rear diffential if itis an automatic transmission tou are talking about it is the same operation but you fill that with auto trans fluid and fords use an oil that begins with an f. there is no trans fluid in the rear end

By removing the axels? Just fill to correct level using fill plug.
