l believe that its also off by about 5-10 mph also. but when ever l am on a smooth road it doesnt do this but as l take off and when ever l hit a bump the little dial in side my car moves back and forth and you can hear it shake.if there is anyone or a cars technician that could give me an answer and an estimated price on that, that would be great.

It really sounds like a common problem the gage itself is faulty , if u can go to a big do it yourself auto wreckers u could pull the dash cluster or instrument panel out out a vehicle like yours & use it to replace yours pretty cheap maybe 30 to 100 bucks tops.


Hope that helps & best of luck.By the way if u can do this job yourself u will not find it too hard to replace that gage , keep in mind that u can get places that sell auto parts like auto zone or advance auto to print out instructions & a diagram , plus u can gain the experience taking the cluster=instrument panel out via the wreckers.
You could also simply call up the big auto wreckers have them quote u different prices & have one of them pull the part u need off for u so u only need to pick up the part later from them.Plus u could pick the part up & call around to the shops & find out who will change it for u for a fair price it really should not take longer then an hr but be sure u use a reliable shop & mechanic u know if all possible but also if you've any handy friends they could replace this part pretty easy for you.Keep in mind that the battery really should be disconnected when doing this job.
Another thing a good service manual like a Hayne is manual should also help u with figuring out what the process is to do this job but basically mostly it be involving removing a few screws really.
