The manual says to change it at 60 Kif my car is euipped with AX45, 4F50N, 4R100, 4F27E?What do these numbers mean and where do l find em?
It also says do not change the fluid unless those numbers apply?

these are transmission model numbers. l can not remember off the top of my head what all of them are, but l know that the 4F27E is a 4-speed electronic automatic tranny, but l think that you probably have a six speed in yours. However, your mercury is bound to have one of those transmissions because these are the only automatic transmissions ford made in 02 that fit to the 4.6L engines (like the ones in mercury marquis) so change the fluid.
