my 93 cougar just recently started making a noise and when l start it up it just accelerate with out me pushing on the gas... Do any one no what this problem might be?

check for a vacuum leak under the hood

Check all your vacuum hoses and then the idle control switch , Remove it and see if the underside is dirty , It may be worn out, hope this helps.
