Sounds a bit high--$500 tops and that assumes great condition--number of miles are a big factor in prcining the vehicle.

Sounds odd, remember, most states have a LEMON LAW, check the minimum required price of the car before u buy it. Usually it is about 1,000 or higher. Buying a car that inexpensive in car terms may be a risky adventure, because usually it would fall under an ''as is'' classification that puts that car at no repair liability of the dealer or owner selling the car. If the vehicle fails any type of inspection, you're shelling out the money.

Take the car to an independant mechanic (someone who is not linked to them or you) to thoroughly check the car. If the person selling the car refuses to allow u to do that, then there is obviously a problem, & u need to not buy that car. A dealer with nothing to hide will never deny u that right as a potential buyer. Even if the car is at a major dealership (Ford, Chevy, etc.)

Make sure the bill of sale does not state that the car is ''as is because u wo not have any leg to stand on if the car does malfunction before too long.

Also, a car that cheap may not carry a warranty of any kind.

Really research the Lemon Law in ur area before u get into this one. Mercurys r Fords in disguise, & l did work at a Lincoln-Mercury Dealership as a Technician, & can tell u that the Tracer never lived up to the Mercury is name (hence why it is not around any more). You may want to take that 800 & try to put it as a down payment on something newer, & make cheap payments. It is not worth it, but l would not be truly able to answer that, because l do not see the car.

JUST GET IT CHECKED BEFORE BUYING

Assuming the car is in fair condition and has around 94,000 miles, $800 is below Kelly Blue Book.
