this is not a good car,my friend,it is a hot rod,and it has been driven hard, and these things are not that tough.. and not a quiality car.and it will give problems.. just walk by this one,and get a simple car with not all that fancy stuff on it. it will give you trouble too..the more a car has,the more it will have problems.

If it do not have a great many miles on yes you can recover a great deal of service If you decide to get it it may not take lots of money then again it may , Its like all others if you like it you will make it new again, hope this helps.

is not the place for this.

Go to teamneco.com and newcougar.org

They will give you info about the exact problems with the car and how to fix them, then you can make an educated decision instead of talking to people who've merely heard that something is a bad car or that dislike it just for being domestic (though its really more German than anything else)

Honestly, they r based off the contour/mystique vehicle line & have their share of issues with them with wiring.

Engine & transmissions r pretty good, do not tend to break down much, but usually when it does break down, it is electrical & most of the time, independants wo not mess with itbecause the electrical is based off of Ford of Europe design..meaning the Mercury dealer usually sees them most often

But real good running cars.if u want this car, best to have it fully inspected first
