Well I am leaning towards(thinking about possibly getting one) one of those, but are they actually good cars or just a nice look?

What year?

If it is 1980 to 1997, then yes, they r good cars. Just do not get a V6. The V6 on the 1990s ones was down about 30 percent on power from the V8 with only a 4 percent improvement in fuel economy, & was not as reliable as the V8.

If it is 1999-2002, then it is merely okay. They were not particularly reliable, & they did not really have performance to back up their looks.

If it is 1974-1979, l hope u like barges.

If it is 1967 to 1973, it is a rebodied Mustang, so yeah it is a good car.

Overview: In 1999, the Cougar was introduced as a small, front-wheel-drive coupe with a large hatchback. The car had excellent handling but a stiff ride. It was available with a 125-hp 2.0-liter four cylinder or a 170-hp, 2.5-liter V6. Even the V6 provides just-adequate acceleration. It is available with an automatic transmission that is sometimes reluctant to downshift or with a balky five-speed manual. Six footers fit comfortably up front & the rear seat is comfortable for a sporty coupe. The Cougar was dropped after 2002.

Safety equipment: Dual front air bags standard. Side air bags & ABS available.
