l put a K&N air filter in it. l am now saving up money to put in a K&N air intake system in it that fits a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria, (same engine). Anything l can do to get more horsepower and torque? A chip?
It does have the 4.6 liter, 281 V-8

if i'm not mistaken that is the 4.6 in there and you can get many of the same parts for a mustang, so depending how extreme you want to go their are tons of parts for the engine.

a nitrous kit would sure give it some passing power!

There is a chip change that can be done to the motor increasing the horsepower from the 230 to 270. Check with a good mechanic about this. A lot of Limo is do this change. Also do you have duel exhaust. My 2002 Marquis has duels as a factory item.

l would go ahead w/ the new intake. Check into a performance chip(superchips.com). Get new mufflers magnaflows are good and cheap. that is probly the cheapest ways to go for minor mods. The chips are good for removing the top speed limiter and they increase shift firmness. Im working on the same thing for my CV 2000 Lx.
