l have a 2006 Mercury Mariner Premier.

I am pretty sure, but not certain, that it does not have a cabin air filter.How do l find and add an after market one?Or are there any other recommendations to increasing outside air quality?

There is only one setting for recirculating air on the Mariner, and that is ''Max AC.''Please help!l live in New Orleans where the air quality/smell is horrible.

Not all of them have one.It,s located under the plastic wiper cowl on the passengers side.You have to remove screws and clips and lift it off to gain access to it.It just a matter of removing and installing it..You are right Max ac is the onlr recurculating setting.Is it your ac that sticks when on.You might have to get the evaporator core sprayed with deordorizer.Mildew sometimes gets on the core and causes a rotten egg smell.Ford has deordorizer and Warrenty will pay to do it

the Ford Escape (Mercury Mariner) has one (according to a parts book l found (But I'd have to pop the cowl cover to make sure.. if their is not one,Ford should have a aftermarket one). But there is no real way other than keeping it on Max a/c to keep the smell out. None of the filters really help, It is just one of the unfortunates for living in the 504
(also make sure it is properly sealed & changed every 15k miles)

So is it the foul odor of Lakeview/NO east & the 9th ward/St. Benard. or is it the other smells (all the chemical plants etc out on I-10?)

As nothing l find can help the occasional smell from the chemical plants.
