how to Remove crankshaft pulley bolt on a 4cly Mystique

Turn bolt in center of pulley CW to remove. Left hand thread.

you will need a friend to help, but try this. remove the dust cover for the bell housing where the trans meets the block, and have a friend use a big flat head screwdriver or pry bar to hold the flywheel so it wont turn. Then while he is doing that, you can break the bolt loose and there ya go.

when you're putting it back together do the same thing so that you can tighten it back up!

you may need to hold the fly wheel but this serious if you dont do it right you will break the theeth on the fly wheel then remove the bolt you may need a gear puller to do this and this may require lifting the engine out far enough to put the pulle on it and this needs to be done right so you dont strip the bolt hole in the crank if you have never done this l would leave it up to the perfesionals good luck

Like in my previous post, u need a 1/2 inch drive impact gun. Using the aforementioned 18mm socket & gun, remove the bolt. The other methods mentioned r VERY risky, & could cause damage, if done by someone inexperienced. What is the problem? Lack of tooling? Why r u wanting to know how to remove the crank pulley bolt? Are u going to replace the timing belt? And lastly, on a 4 cylinder Mystique, u DO NOT need a puller once the bolt is removed. The pulley should come off freely.
